Headingley is giving Stuart Broad a standing ovation and justifiably so. He has rubbed salt into New Zealand’s wounds with a brisk cameo but Tim Southee produces a peach to get rid of him for 42. The wicket ball came in with the angle but straightened after pitching to breach Broad’s defence and knock the bail. Who saw this coming when the hosts were tottering at 55/6? But England have turned this around to now take the first innings lead. It would spell trouble for New Zealand if they don’t strike soon.
