(Video) Tom Latham shoulders arms as Jimmy completes 650 Test wickets

New Zealand began their second innings on a promising note with Tom Latham playing an on drive to get off the mark with a four but he committed the error of shouldering arms to a delivery that angled in and was bowled, becoming Anderson’s 650th victim in Test cricket. There was help for the bowlers with the ball jagging around but Devon Conway and Will Young kept them at bay leading into the break. The left-hander was also a touch lucky when he got squared up by Anderson as the ball flew over the slip cordon.

Brief scores: New Zealand 553 & 114/2 (Devon Conway 52, Will Young 49*; James Anderson 1-18, Jack Leach 1-53) lead England 539 (Joe Root 176, Ollie Pope 145; Trent Boult 5-106) by 128 runs.
