Devon Conway flicked a James Anderson delivery in the air towards Matthew Potts at short midwicket and it appeared it might have gone on the bounce to the fielder. The umpires refer it to their colleague upstairs with the soft signal at not-out and the third umpire confirms that the ball went into the fielder’s hands on the volley. It was appearing to be another fruitless hour for England, with New Zealand scoring at a fair clip, before Ben Stokes turned partnership breaker again by getting Nicholls to nick behind.
