(Video) Lord’s likely to host World Test Championship final in 2023

The fresh cycle of the World Test Championship could see the marquee final being staged at Lord’s, the spiritual home of cricket. Lord’s had been informally earmarked as the venue for the inaugural WTC final last summer but because of Covid-19 the game was shifted to Southampton at the Ageas Bowl. At the time, the UK was still in the easing-out phase of restrictions put in place because of the pandemic. New Zealand beat India in the final to become the first Test world champions.

As restrictions have ended in the UK and bio-secure bubbles have been relaxed, the ICC are hoping once again to organize the summit clash at Lord’s.
