It’s been a promising start to the Stokes-McCullum era. The Lord’s Test was a fascinating affair despite not lasting five days. It kept swinging both ways right from the beginning and England eventually came out roses. Joe Root was the architect in the run chase with a graceful ton. Ben Stokes provided ample support on Day 3 with a fifty and Ben Foakes looked absolutely solid and put on more than 100 with Root to get the job done as England taste their second success in the last 18 Tests. The hosts are 1-0 up in the three-match series.
