The players depart for the lunch break on Day 3 at Lord’s. England will be very pleased with the proceedings so far despite the wicket of Alex Lees, who left a ramrod straight ball to have his off-stump pegged back. They need another 246 runs to win this Test with nine wicket in hand and they have all the time they need to overhaul the target. Although, England could have gone to lunch with an even bigger smile had Lees not gifted his wicket away.
Earlier, Stuart Broad inspired England with an over that saw England snare a team hat-trick as New Zealand astonishingly lost their last 6 wickets for 24 runs.
That is exactly what New Zealand will have wanted before lunch!
