Netherlands can pat themselves on the back for a robust first innings display that was interuppted by rain for a couple of hours. Teja Nidamanuru has a fifty to his credit on ODI debut, as he dealt a few lusty blows in the final few overs to put up a challenging score for West Indies.
Netherlands got an opening stand of 63 runs largely thanks to Vikramjit Singh’s breezy strokeplay early on, but lost their way in the middle overs with spin introduced into the attack as Hayden Walsh’s googly bamboozled Max ODowd and Akeal Hosein accounted for Musa Ahmed. Nevertheless, the hosts recovered well from the double whammy to end on a high.
