Sri Lanka heaved a huge sigh of relief after their batsman Kusal Mendis was cleared of any major complications after an ECG was carried out on Monday, May 23. Mendis was rushed to a hospital for proper diagnosis after complaining of chest pain during the opening session of the second Test against Bangladesh at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. Mendis had scored 54 and 48 runs respectively in the opening drawn Test in Chattogram.
“He underwent an ECG and there was no major issue in the report,” said a Bangladesh Cricket Board official told Cricbuzz. “Hopefully he will report back to the hotel within a couple of hours as he is now under observation,” he added.
A bit shocking to read! One hopes this is a minor issue and wishing Mendis a quick recovery.https://t.co/VMExiyuWcI
