Four vital strikes from Taijul Islam made sure Bangladesh stayed ahead in the game on day five of the first Test at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. For the better part of the morning, Sri Lanka were in control of proceedings with runs coming at a fair clip. However, Taijul removed Kusal Mendis and Angelo Mathews in quick succession to dent the visitors. He also accounted for Lasith Embuldeniya and senior pro Angelo Mathews to give Bangladesh a slim chance of victory.
