To press a finger on one of KKR’s biggest quandaries in IPL 2022, you’d have to go back all the way back to March 26 – the opening night of the season. KKR had a fresh opener in Ajinkya Rahane walking to bat with one of their retentions, Venkatesh Iyer, and putting on 42 runs for the first wicket. 10 games since, both have lost their spot and none of the other four different opening combinations have managed to give a better account. KKR have lost 23 wickets in the Powerplay so far – most by a side this season.
