Gujarat Titans bucked the trend and decided to bat first on winning the toss to get themselves acclimatized to defending totals ahead of the play-offs. The table toppers’ experiment didn’t pay off against a disciplined Punjab Kings attack as they slipped to a rare defeat, by eight wickets. The Titans’ last four victories had been achieved while pursuing targets and, on Tuesday, they realised what it means to put up a good total upfront. The 144-run target proved exigent as Punjab Kings returned to winning ways to move up to the fifth spot in the table.
That’s that from Match 48.@PunjabKingsIPL win by 8 wickets with four overs to spare.
