It’s good that Virat Kohli is using his feet against the spinners, but he must begin employing the sweep more often to make life difficult for the opposition, former India coach Ravi Shastri said. At the helm of the Indian team for four-and-a-half years up to November 2021, Shastri worked closely with Kohli, who captained the side across formats through the tenure. Shastri explained that though Kohli did play the shot in the nets occasionally, he didn’t need to bring it out frequently in international cricket since the numbers of spinners going around are usually fewer than is the case in the IPL.
“If he uses his feet and starts to play the sweep, any spinner will think twice, thrice about what to bowl” Ravi Shastri urges Virat Kohli to sweep more often at the IPL to put pressure on opposition spinners. https://t.co/Ab9KJNypqa #Cricket #CricketTwitter
