Australia swatted aside West Indies by 157 runs to barge into the 2022 World Cup final – their ninth appearance in 12 editions. Alyssa Healy’s well-paced 129, Rachael Haynes’ 85 and a Beth Mooney cameo (43*off 31) at the end, Australia posted a daunting 305/3 from their 45 overs in a rain-truncated 45-overs-per-side semifinal at the Basin Reserve in Wellington on Wednesday. Barring some early flourish from Deandra Dottin, West Indies’ steep chase lacked the stomach for a fight and expectedly fell short.
