This has been a commendable effort from LSG to put on 158 on the board after being reduced to a shambolic 32/4 after the powerplay. Mohammad Shami struck early and rocked the strong LSG top order with the wickets of the big fishes early. However, Deepak Hooda and Aayush Badoni put their heads down and battled it out with a brilliant 87-run stand for the fifth wicket. They took their time early on, but switched gears in the middle overs with 46 coming in three overs as they got a move on. Hooda was the orchestrator of that counterpunch with a 55, and Badoni went on to get his 50 on IPL debut.
