The target of 278 chased by Australia in Auckland was the highest successful chase in the Women’s World Cup. The previous highest target chase was also by Australia when they hunted down 258 against Sri Lanka in 2017. They now have 17 successful ODI chases in succession since losing to England at Coffs Harbour in 2017. It is the joint-longest streak while chasing in ODIs (men or women). The Australian women are now sharing the record with India men’s 17 consecutive wins in ODI chases between 2005 and 2006.
