(Video) Rabada fifer, Colin de Grandhomme ton headline Day 3

On a day in which momentum swung either way, South Africa wobbled but managed to retain control of the Test at the end of the third day’s play at the Hagley Oval. The visitors went to stumps with a 211-run lead and five wickets in hand in the second essay. They were hurt in particular by a 133-run stand for the sixth wicket between Colin de Grandhomme and Daryl Mitchell after New Zealand were reduced to 91/5 at towards the fag end of the second day. A prominent factor in New Zealand’s revival was Colin de Grandhomme’s second Test century.
