Australia left-hander Usman Khawaja brought an end to his long-standing association with BBL franchise Sydney Thunder from the very first year of the league in 2011, with one year still left on his current contract, owing to family obligations. Khawaja, who is the team’s leading run-scorer with 1818 runs in 59 fixtures, called it the toughest decision he had to take. He’s made it anyway because he wants to stay close to his hometown of Brisbane for the birth of his second child.
Thanks for everything, Uz 🤝
