Ajinkya Rahane responded to the mounting pressure in fine style as he hit a watchful century on day one to bail Mumbai out of trouble against Saurashtra. Mumbai were rocked after choosing to bat first and were reduced to 44/3 before Rahane and Sarfaraz Khan put on a hundred alliance to resurrect the innings. Like Rahane, Sarfaraz too managed to register a century as both the batsmen remained unbeaten at stumps. It was a confidence-boosting knock for the former Indian vice-captain as his form had come under intense scrutiny in recent times.
