Mumbai Indians splashed out big bucks to purchase some star players, including Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams and Ishan Kishan. However, the acquisition of England pacer Jofra Archer for a whopping amount of Rs 8 crores came as a major surprise as the 26-year old quick will not play this season due to a debilitating elbow injury. IPL’s chief operating officer Hemang Amin had confirmed to teams that the English pacer’s involvement in the 2022 edition of the tournament is uncertain. It seems like Mumbai Indians have procured his services with a long-term view in mind.
