Karachi Kings had come into this joust with four losses in four games and were so desperate to script a turnaround in the PSL 2022. They had done fairly well to keep Islamabad United to a par score of 177 on that wicket when it looked at one stage they would get a total in excess of 200. Yet, the Kings slipped to their fifth straight loss as they ended up 42 runs short in Karachi on Sunday, finishing at 135/9. The trend of teams batting first going on to prevail in the game in the last seven games continued as Karachi Kings failed to chase down the target.
