South Africa official Marais Erasmus on Monday was adjudged the ICC Umpire of the Year. Erasmus, who stood in the ICC Menโs T20 World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand, has earned massive respect from his peers and the international cricket fraternity for his exceptional accuracy in decision-making. The 2021 Umpire of the Year Award sits alongside his successive Dave Shepherd Trophies, won in 2016 and 2017. Widely considered as one of the best umpires in the world, Erasmus has overseen 20 international fixtures across formats in 2021.
