Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, Joe Root, Chris Gayle and Mitchell Starc are set to skip this year’s Indian Premier League. The star players have decided not to enrol for the mega-auction, to be held on February 12 and 13. While Root had previously declared that he would have to withdraw from IPL for the sake of England and Test cricket, but the absence of Gayle, Stokes, Archer and Starc has come as a surprise. 1214 players have made it to the initial list of the auction register shared with the IPL franchises on Friday night, as per Cricbuzz.
Forty-nine players have listed their base price at the maximum of INR 2 crore for the upcoming mega IPL auction.
