England’s best opening stand of the series was 47 hitherto, but Rory Burns and Zac Crawley managed to put to a promising 68-run stand as England set out to chase a manageable 271 to win the fifth and final Ashes Test in Hobart. While Burns played on a ball from Cameron Green to walk back for 26 on the last delivery before the tea interval, Crawley has looked good for his 32. Dawid Malan has joined the opener at the crease and England would be happy indeed if the two manage to take the visitors to stumps without any further damage.
