Mark Wood led his team off the ground to a thundering round of applause from the Barmy Army after returning a stellar six-fer. It’s not often that England have found some personal milestones to cheer for on this tour, but Wood has bowled his heart out and produced a match-defining effort. Apart from the brief period where Alex Carey and skipper Pat Cummins gathered quick runs, the English bowlers did well to keep the visitors in the contest. England need 271 to make it 3-1 in the Ashes series.
Mark Wood has kept his country in the game.
