Scott Boland knocked out Zac Crawley and had Joe Root caught at second slip to leave England hurting in the opening session of day three. The pacer, who enjoyed a dream debut at the MCG, has bowled four maidens in a row while picking up two key wickets. While Crawley was bowled in the quest of a big booming drive, Root punched feebly away from the body to bring Steve Smith in the cordon into play. England are teetering at 36/3 and Australia are all over them like a rash.
