(Photo) Bumrah’s late strikes help India edge ahead on see-saw day

On a day when South Africa fought hard to get on an even keel with the visitors, Jasprit Bumrah’s double strike late on Wednesday helped India take pole position again. South Africa, chasing 305 for a win, were restricted to 94/4 at Stumps. A stubborn stand by Dean Elgar and Rassie van der Dussen rescued South Africa after they were knocked down to 34/2 and kept the Indian bowlers at bay for more than an hour and a half. They added 40 runs before an error in judgement cost Rassie, followed by Keshav Maharaj’s departure in the dying throes of the day.
