(Video) Start delayed due to wet outfield in Centurion

Led by KL Rahul’s patient century, India found themselves in a commanding position at the end of the opening day – at 272 for 3. South Africa couldn’t make hay with the new ball, both first and second, and paid the price. The visitors have laid a strong foundation for themselves, but it will be interesting to see if they are able to cash in on it in the friendlier batting conditions of the second day’s play, which is yet to begin due to wet outfield in Centurion. It’s gotten darker as well as the ground remains under covers. Early Lunch has been taken.
