Joe Root fell soon after reaching the fifty landmark before Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow revived the innings and looked in control. Stokes and Buttler’s wickets in quick succession, however, pegged England back as Cameron Green and Nathan Lyon snared the scalps respectively. Australia have reinforced their supremacy in the ongoing Ashes series after dismissing half of the English team under just two sessions of play.
