(Photo) BCCI to meet franchise owners to discuss contingency plans amid Omicron scare

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is thinking of calling an owners’ meeting of the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises sometime next month to discuss contingency plans for IPL 2022, according to Cricbuzz. With the country seeing a rapid increase in the number of Omicron cases lately, the BCCI is concerned about the Covid-driven health hazards all over the nation around April and May, when the IPL is scheduled. The BCCI is likely to discuss all the scenarios with the owners. The option of going back to the UAE, seemingly, is off the drawing board, as per the publication.
