South African fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match Test series against India with a “persistent injury,” the Cricket South Africa revealed on Twitter. No replacement has been named as of now, leaving the squad down to 20 members. Nortje, 28, has been South Africa’s pace bowling spearhead across formats of late and has stepped up to cover for Kagiso Rabada, who has been blowing hot and cold for a while.
