It’s still looking an improbable task for England to salvage a draw but not as much as it did before the start of the day, or when Ben Stokes was dismissed. Australia have been made to work really hard, and they chipped away with a couple more wickets this session. However, it’s been a gritty rearguard from Jos Buttler who has shown remarkable temperament so far in defiance. Currently batting on 25, Buttler needs to hang in there and hope that his partners also dig in if England are to eke out a stalemate.
