It must have been a heartbreak for Joe Root and the England camp as the skipper fell at the brink of Stumps on day four of the Adelaide Test. He copped a serious blow in the groin, wasn’t moving well and braved it out there despite the pain, but he nicked Mitchell Starc off in the final over of the day. England are now teetering at 82/4, having lost their lynchpin who has been in red hot form this year. They would now rely on Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler to salvage a draw, which seems unlikely in front of a turbo-charged Aussie attack.
The ideal finish to the day for Australia!
