Debutant Neser and Mitchell Starc threw their bat around in the final session of the day, adding 58 brisk runs between them. Neser fell in that pursuit though, holing out to long off for a vibrant 35. Australia are placed firmly in the hot seat having declared at 473/9, with Jhye Richardson the last man to fall. The hosts are now going to have a crack at England’s feeble batting line-up for a good 25 overs and see if they can prise out a couple of wickets to cap off a perfect day at work.
