(Video) Australia pocket the session despite Anderson’s twin blow

Australia have pocketed the session despite Steve Smith and Alex Carey falling in quick succession towards the end. They combined for a steady 91-run partnership that also came at a good tempo for the hosts. It did seem like the stand-in skipper would register yet another Ashes century but it wasn’t to be, as he got trapped LBW by Anderson. Carey worked his way to a maiden Test fifty but he too perished to England’s spearhead at the stroke of the break. England have their task cut out now as they break into Australia’s tail, with the scoreboard reading 390/7.
