Glenn Maxwell’s maiden BBL hundred was eclipsed by Josh Philippe as the Melbourne Stars suffered their second straight defeat to the Sydney Sixers. Looking to make amends for their shambolic 61 all out in the season opener, Stars’ skipper Maxwell led the charge for the hosts at the MCG with a thundering 103 off 57 balls to help his side post an imposing 177/5. However, Sixers young gun Josh Philippe played a blinder of a knock worth 99 to take his team home.
Even though the Stars narrowly missed out on the win, Glenn Maxwell’s maiden BBL century was still a very special moment! 💯 #BBL11 pic.twitter.com/wq1tiwU4B1
