New Zealand have managed to survive the final day of the Kanpur Test, albeit by the barest of margins. The first of the two red-ball clashes went right down to the wire as Rachin Ravindra and Ajaz Patel hung around to help New Zealand salvage a draw. Debutant Ravindra was the chief stonewaller, blunting 91 deliveries for his unbeaten 18 to get the job done. India did everything possible to skittle the opposition out but just couldn’t apply the finishing touches to what would have been a resounding victory.
