Gary Kirsten, the former South African batsman who coached India to their epoch-making 2011 World Cup victory, turned 54 on Tuesday. Kirsten was instrumental in paving the side’s path to glory. The cricketing world took to Twitter and showered their heartfelt wishes to the successful coach. Under Kistren’s tutelage, the Indian team reached the number one spot in the longest format of the game besides bringing home the ODI World Cup after a long wait of 28 years.
