India captain Mithali Raj on Saturday became the first women cricketer to be honoured with the prestigious Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award. The senior pro is the leading run-getter in the women’s game. Apart from Mithali, India opener batter Shikhar Dhawan was conferred with Arjuna Award by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind. The left-hander holds the record for being the fastest Indian to reach 2000 and 3000 runs in ODI cricket. BCCI lauded the achievements of the duo and shared the video of them being honoured on social media.
