Cricket pundit Simon Doull hailed the Trans-Tasman rivalry between Australia and New Zealand as the equivalent of Ashes for the latter. While Doull believed that the Kiwis had the bowling unit to dominate and win matches, the clicking together of the batting line-up has impressed him the most. He applauded Devon Conway’s efforts in the chase against England in the semi-final and was equally enamoured by Daryl Mitchell’s clean ball-striking at the end. Doull believes Conway, who has injured his right hand, can be replaced by Tim Siefert, a top-order bat has the brute force required in the modern game.
