The T20 World Cup Super 12 clash between Pakistan and Afghanistan seemed to be going down to the wire before Asif Ali came in and blasted 25* off 7 balls, hitting 4 sixes in the 19th over. Although pacer Karim Janat did himself no favours at all by serving juicy length balls one after the other as Asif spanked them out of the park with glee. Babar Azam did his bit earlier in Pakistan’s 148-run chase, compiling a healthy half-century, although his wicket at an inopportune juncture left the match hanging in the balance. Until of course, Asif Ali arrived.
