The writing was on the wall for Papua New Guinea when Bangladesh posted a monstrous 181/7 on the board. The noteworthy contributors were skipper Mahmudullah and Shakib Al Hasan, who also picked four wickets to stymie PNG’s chase. The experienced campaigner was deservedly adjudged the player of the match for his all-round show. Although Bangladesh would be a tad disappointed having not been able to wrap the game earlier despite PNG tottering at 29 for 7.
