Rishabh Pant hit a rapid 50 for the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League’s first qualifier for the final on Sunday, dragging his side out of a hole against the Chennai Super Kings. Pant came in as Axar Patel fell for 10, the Capitals at a crossroads at 77/3, and him and Shimron Hetmyer put on an excellent partnership. Pant made 51 not out off 35 balls and Hetmyer 37 off 24. The Capitals finished on 172/5 to put themselves just about in the box-seat to reach the final.
