Having replaced David Warner at the top of the order, Jason Roy badgered a 42-ball 60 to lay the foundation for Sunrisers Hyderabad’s successful chase against Rajasthan Royals. Sanju Samson’s mesmerizing 82 went in vain as Hyderabad knocked off the target with nine balls to spare. Calm and collected as always, skipper Kane Williamson sealed the deal with consecutive boundaries through the mid-wicket region.
There was a slight brush with panic after SRH lost a couple of quick wickets in the middle overs, but the 21-year-old Abhishek Sharma exhibited composure to stitch a near 50-run stand with Williamson and take his team home.
