On this day five years ago, Middlesex won the County Championship in the most dramatic of circumstances. Playing Yorkshire at Lord’s, Toby Roland-Jones took a hat-trick, and subsequently ten wickets in the match, to win the game for his county by 61 runs and propel them to their first title since 1993. As the seamer bowled Ryan Sidebottom round his legs, raucous scenes ensued at the famous old ground in what was one of the most remarkable finales to a season in recent memory.
