Rashid Khan, Afghanistan’s star leg-spinner, turns 23 today, and choosing a celebratory career highlight to watch back is a difficult task given how much success the young man has enjoyed already. In the end, we have gone for the 3-11 Rashid took against Zimbabwe in the 2016 T20 World Cup, a breakthrough tournament which he has not looked back from. Khan has now played 5 Tests, 74 One Day Internationals and 51 T20Is for his country, and has been one of the central factors in inspiring the sport’s recent growth in Afghanistan, one which now looks under threat.
