Ricky Ponting guarded the field like a panther and had a happy habit of nailing the bull’s eye, so it was ill-advised to test his arm. As evinced by the clip below, the Australian livewire was incredibly light on his feet. Ponting swoops in with amazing alacrity and bends low to pick up the ball and inflict a direct hit in one motion. The batsman is not even in the frame and has to make the long walk back to the pavilion.
An iconic player and an iconic kit! The great Ricky Ponting at his best in the field against South Africa back in 1997-98 #KitWeek pic.twitter.com/DhgHtgcqZ8
