Amy Satterthwaite’s unbeaten 79 came in a losing cause as England Women took honours in the opening ODI at Bristol by 30 runs. Heather Knight was adjudged the Player of the Match for her sizeable contribution of 89 after the hosts were invited to have a bat first. Tammy Beaumont and Katherine Brunt chipped in with brisk forties as England posted a daunting 241, which eventually proved too steep a climb for the White Ferns.
