Shardul Thakur, in an interview with the Indian Express, has spoken about his and India’s attitude towards the bowling of bouncers at ill-equipped tailenders. The topic became a particularly prevalent one during the second Test against England at Lord’s, where James Anderson took great exception at a barrage of short-pitched bowling sent his way by Jasprit Bumrah, a spell complete with many a no-ball. Thakur mentioned that a similiar situation arose with Thangarasu Natarajan and Pat Cummins in Australia, and that his side are not in the business of making friends, but winning matches.
