Former New Zealand cricketer Nathan Astle, who celebrates his birthday today, smacked the fastest double ton in Test cricket two decades ago. He scripted the marvellous feat against England at the AMI Stadium in Christchurch as New Zealand set out to chase 550. Astle walked out to bat in the 43rd over, with New Zealand at 119/3 and blasted his way to 200 from just 153 balls. It was a matter of unabashed attack from the word go as he marauded 28 boundaries and 11 sixes in his epoch-making effort.
