After England’s fifth Test match against India was cancelled on Friday morning, many ticket-holders found themselves free for the day. It was heartening to see so many flock from Old Trafford to Sale Cricket Club, where the North West Thunder were playing the Southern Vipers in the Rachael Heyhoe-Flint Trophy. There were hilarious scenes as Kate Cross hit a six, cheered on by a group of fans dressed as cavemen. It made for an excellent atmosphere, and proved that cricket always prevails despite its controversies.
With the Old Trafford test being called off late some fans decided to head to Sale to watch North West Thunder v Southern Vipers in the #RHFTrophy.
A maximum for Kate Cross sends the cavemen crazy! 😂🙌
